What is ETHWomen Hackathon?

ETHWomen is a hybrid hackathon at Futurist Conference, a female-focused and inclusive event series part of ETHToronto and Blockchain Futurist Conference.

What’s the difference between on-site and in-person?

The in-person event is optional to attend and is scheduled with bounty presentations, workshops and networking events. You can meet with mentors, sponsors and your team face-to-face with meaningful interactions and conversations. All the computer hacking and project submission is done online and the virtual building is on Discord.

Who can participate at ETHWomen?

Anyone who identifies as a woman+ with all skill levels are welcome. No tech or coding skills are required with non-technical and technical track bounties.

Where is the in-person ETHWomen taking place?

ETHWomen & ETHToronto is taking place at Futurist Conference on August 13 - 14, 2024. The venue is at Rebel Entertainment Complex, 11 Polson Street, Toronto, ON M5A 1A4

How much does it cost to attend?

ETHWomen is a free event for hackers! Free tickets are limited and registration is open for 2024. Applicants can buy a Futurist ticket to attend or register for ETHToronto 2024. No ticket is required to participate in the online hackathon.

What time does on-site registration begin?

Registration begins at 8 am. Arrive early and plan ahead for delayed traffic due to construction

Will there be hacking on-site?

There is no official hacking taking place on-site or a designated area for hackers. The in-person event is packed with events bounty presentations & workshops, mentorship hours and mock judging practice, and an opportunity to foster meaningful interactions and conversations.

When does the hackathon submissions end?

The deadline to submit your project online is one week after the in-person event, on Wednesday August 21, 2024 by 11:59 AM EST.

How many people can be on a team?

You can participate as an individual or a team of up to 6 members!

What if I don't have / know anyone to form a team?

That's okay! You will have the opportunity to form teams when you get to ETHToronto! You can also form a team online on Discord in the #team-formation channel

Should I bring my laptop?

You can bring your laptop though there’s no mentorship onsite. We do not recommend bringing a laptop, though you can bring one for the Mentorship & Mock Judging event to practice your pitch with your team and mentors.

What is mock judging?

The Mock Judging session is when you can practice your presentation for your project and receive advise and support to improve your pitch delivery or ways to elevate your project results. You can connect with mentors of various skills and backgrounds, bounty sponsors and participants.

How will judging take place for ETHWomen?

All the judging takes place online. Last year's 2023 bounty criteria can be found here on DoraHacks bounties page.

How will the bounty prizes be distributed to the winners?

The bounty Sponsors will be distributing the teams directly.
